An Interview with a Weinberg & Schwartz Paralegal

We sat down with Heather Harriss, one of the paralegals here at Weinberg & Schwartz, LLC, and asked a few questions.

Heather, tell us how you came to join the team at W&S?

I worked previously for one of our associate attorneys who joined the Weinberg & Schwartz team before I did. The associate attorney, Ms. Pryor recommended me to the partners of the firm when they needed another paralegal.

Tell us about a typical day at work?

My typical workday usually consists of talking and meeting with clients, drafting pleadings, scheduling meetings, and filing pleadings with the Court.

You do a great job every day. Do you have a personal philosophy?

My personal philosophy is you can only do the best you can do, but every day I wake up I try to push myself a little more than I did the day before.

When your friends ask you what you do, how do you explain family law?

Family Law is unique and can also be very interesting. We have a lot of clients that retain for the same type of matters, but that does not mean their cases will proceed in the same way. In family law cases you really get to see into some people’s lives from an outside perspective and see who they really are or why they are the way they are.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I still see myself as a paralegal, but as a more well-rounded and experienced paralegal.

Thanks, Heather!
