7 W&S Attorneys Recognized by 2027 Super Lawyers List
Break out the capes! Seven attorneys with Weinberg & Schwartz, LLC have been named to the 2027 Maryland Super Lawyers / Rising Stars List! We are very proud of the hard work that goes into being recognized on these lists.
Super Lawyers is a national rating service that identifies outstanding lawyers based on a rigorous multiphase selection process, including peer nominations, independent research, and peer evaluations within each practice area. In Maryland, only the top 5% of attorneys are named to the Super Lawyers list, while the Rising Stars list recognizes the top 2.5% of younger attorneys or those with less than 10 years of practice.
Not only are our attorneys reccognized as Super Lawyers, but our founding partners – Jolie G. Weinberg and Marni B. Schwartz – have also been named to the prestigous “Top 50 Women” and “Top 100 Lawyers” for Maryland! Jolie has been named to these lists since 2013 and Marni has been named to them since 2022. Our clients sometimes ask about winning these awards, and our answer often is something to the following effect:
When it comes to rating a lawyer or attorney, the process for doing so is almost guaranteed to be a subjective one. When evaluating an attorney’s performance in the field of family law, the process can be even harder. Every family is different, every situation is different, and every client is different. The expectations of what makes up a successful representation also varies significantly from case to case.
One of the reasons that we believe our attorneys have been selected for Super Lawyers so many times is that we take into account every single individual client’s goals for the outcome of their case and then work extremely hard to accomplish those goals. It is never a one-size-fits-all outcome that we are trying to achieve.
We also recognize that being an attorney is also a job rooted in customer service. Our clients expect timely and meaningful communication, without feeling that they are being billed unnecessarily. Regular and helpful communication goes a long way to ease the concerns/any anxiety our clients feel during what can be a very challenging part of their lives.
Last, almost all effective legal representation is based on whether or not the attorney can obtain a favorable trial outcome. While not every case should go to trial (and certainly not every family law case), a good attorney should be able to assess the strengths and weaknesses of a client’s case and provide the client with a range of potential outcomes at trial. The now well-informed client can either negotiate an outcome that fits with their tolerance for the risk of a trial outcome or proceed to trial with the confidence that their attorney will represent them zealously and effectively. Importantly, often the opposing attorney will know the trial ‘reputation’ of their opponent, which can also factor into whether the other side will agree to a proposal or go to trial.
